The team of Feldman Ecopark on sports orientation has successfully participated in a tournament in Finland.
The combined team of Feldman Ecopark and the Club of sports orienteering “Kompas” has participated in the annual international “Yukola-2016” tournament in Lapperant in Finland. The trip took place within the project of the International Charitable Foundation “Alexander Feldman’s Fund” — “A tournament thousands of teams”.
The program of competitions has provided participation of teams from different countries and clubs on sports orientation in relay races on forest routes. On start of the “Yukola-2016” tournament there were more than 1600 women’s and more than 2000 men’s teams from about 41 countries. The total quantity of participants and audience of activity has totaled 183 thousand people.
Our orienteering athletes exposed the women’s team consisting of four professional sportswomen and a men’s team from seven athletes. Among participants of team there are champions of Ukraine and prize-winners of the international competitions.
“It was the prestigious tournament with the high competition. Stars of sports orienteering, defending champions of the world and Europe took part in it. Our sportswomen have taken the honourable 53rd place. They passed four stages of more than three-hour race with the minimum lagging from leaders and ended up in the top 100 strongest world clubs — the organizer of a trip, the sport consultant Feldman Ecopark, Candidate Master of Sports on Sport Orienteering Sergey Beloskursky told. — Men after seven stages of tough competitive struggle proceeding 7 hours have taken the 283rd place and confirmed the rating, having remained in number 300 of the best clubs of the world”.
“We are sure that it is only one of steps on the way to more significant achievements and victories of our athletes. We hope that every day “The tournament thousands of teams” will integrate round itself the maximum number of athletes in various sports which will be able to glorify Ukraine by their good results on the international and All-Ukrainian tournaments and to set an example of a healthy, sporty lifestyle” — the director Feldman Ecopark Andrey Roshchupkin noted.
We will note that “A tournament of 1000 teams” — the unique project in Ukraine. It is directed to revival of mass sport for children and young people. It is carried out at the initiative of Alexander Feldman since 2001. During this time about 1 million people have already taken part in it. Since spring 2016 the project became international.
