With the outset of warm weather, representatives of the animal collection of the Social and Humanitarian Multi-Complex of Feldman Ecopark leave winter apartments and return to summer enclosures. Some animals and birds can already be seen in expositional enclosures, others wait for warmer weather. Final summer resettlement will finish at the end of the next month.
According to the zoologists of Feldman Ecopark, process of resettlement of thermophilic animals to summer enclosures from places of their wintering has already began. So, the ocelot and some birds have already moved.
“Special conditions for wintering in our climate are necessary to the most part of animal collection Feldman Ecopark, such as hibernating steppe marmots, apes, reptiles, many species of birds etc. For example, the apes will be moved to expositional enclosures when stable warm weather is established and night time temperature rises above 10˚C” — told in Eсopark.
It is planned to complete process of animal return to summer enclosures by the end of May when weather allows thermophilic species to leave winter apartments.
It should be reminded that the animal collection of Feldman Ecopark comprises 3,000 animals of more than 300 species. The ape collection of Feldman Ecopark is one of the biggest in Eastern Europe. It comprises about 250 individuals of nearly 30 species, including those listed in the IUCN Red List.
