On July 5 in Feldman Ecopark started the 3rd season of the “Take Away Children from Streets” project. 15 people will take part in the program and if in previous years the main attention was paid to difficult teenagers, and also to children from dysfunctional families, this year children of resettlers from the anti-terrorist operation zone became main characters of it. In work with participants experts will apply absolutely new method — ecotherapy.
“Experience showed that the project is rather effective. First of all it is based on giving of alternative to teenagers who are at risk of delinquency to values of “street”. They receive motivation for change of behavior. Among those who were already the participant of the project in previous years no criminal record or detention has been recorded — the Chief Inspector of Juvenile Prevention Department of National police in the Kharkov Region Konstantin Sheremet tells. – Now we plan to use this technique for work with children of resettlers from the anti-terrorist operation zone”.
According to experts, such children who had a strong stress are in “a risk zone”.
The psychological discomfort, certain difficulties which they experience in communication with contemporaries and adults can become the reason of deviant behavior. To save them from wrong way is the main task of psychologists of the “Take Away Children from Streets” project.
“Feldman Ecopark gives unique opportunities for psychocorrection. There is an enormous therapeutic potential in natural habitat, at free contact with animals, comfortable conditions of stay, the general benevolent and creative atmosphere — the Chair Holder of Psychotherapy Department of the Kharkiv Medical Academy, the Chief Specialist of Ministry of Health in “Psychotherapy”, the curator of the Center of Psychosocial Rehabilitation Feldman Ecopark, the Doctor of Medical Science Boris Mikhaylov considers. – A combination of such techniques as the landscape therapy, animal therapy, art therapy, work therapy, etc. allow to solve a problem in a complex and open new unique prospects. It is possible to name this new method based on creative immersion in environment as ecotherapy”.
