On June 3-5, the members of the Children’s Ecology and Nature Study Academy of Feldman Ecopark underwent their summer practical training at the Biological research centre under Karazin Kharkiv National University (the village of Haidary, Zmiiv region, Kharkiv oblast). It is the sixth year for them to come here. The lessons with young biologists are carried out by the workers of the National Nature Park “Gomilshansky lissy” and botany and zoology teaches of the University.
“It is the best scientific and research centre in Sloboda Ukraine. It is situated in the National Nature Park “Gomilshansky lissy,” the natural conditions of which create a wide range of possibilities for study of various biological objects. The Biological research centre is equipped with necessary facilities for field and laboratory work, as well as for comfortable accommodation of the students,” the head of the Club of Young Biologists under the Children’s Ecology and Nature Study Academy of Feldman Ecopark Svitlana Pavlenko told. “The programme of practical training was, as usual, rich and intense. It included the observations of birds, amphibia and insects, morning and evening excursions narrating about various biotopes and flora of the native land.”
According to her words, the summer practical training is very important for vocational education and training and for the choice of the field of specialization by the members of the Children’s Academy, because it introduces them to the real work of biologists, to the peculiarities and complexity of their researches.
It should be reminded that the Children’s Ecology and Nature Study Academy of Feldman Ecopark is the largest non-governmental institution of out-of-school education. More than 700 children of different age attend it.
