The members of the Children’s Ecology and Nature Study Academy of Feldman Ecopark have undertaken an interesting and informative hike during which they lived three days in tents and studied subtleties of life of the real tourists and had a lovely time.
From August 24 to August 26, about 130 children, including pupils from the Club of Young Cynologists, Ski Сlub, groups from the Horse Complex and others mastered skills, such as installation of a tent, starting up a fire, backpack folding, knotcraft and rope coiling in the Tent Camp set up on a spacious meadow of the picturesque Three Lakes coast. Besides, the residents of the forest town practised archery in a bow shooting range, kayaking, left for short cycle hikes, participated in a quest with the orienteering elements and also in the night orienteering with logical tasks concerning the nature subject. This year the tree climbing lessons were given for the first time.
According to Vladyslav Smalenii, the head of the sports and recreational direction of the Children’s Ecology and Nature Study Academy of Feldman Ecopark, gathering together in the Tent Camp at the end of summer becomes a good tradition. “All children are happy, and nobody asked to go home because everyone was busy out doing stuff all the time. Children established tents (about fifty units) in which they lived these days. The children coped with it rather well as nobody has got wet when in the first day it started to rain. Nearly a half of children, especially the younger ones appeared in the Tent Holiday Camp for the first time. This is unforgettable impressions for them”, – Vladyslav Smalenii says.
8 children with special needs lived in the Tent Camp and took part in all activities. “It is a social adaptation for children; here they have interesting and lovely time. You see that our children with special needs are on a par with other children and feel great. Together with all they run, jump, swing, do archery and go kayaking. For our children it is positive emotions, a boon for their emotional sphere necessary for them. We’re expanding a social circle for children”, – the educator of the municipal Centre of early general social, pedagogical and labour rehabilitation of disabled children and persons disabled since childhood ‘Promin,’ Valentyna Yahniuk told.
It should be reminded that since 2015 the Children’s health-improving and educational camp Feldman Ecopark was organized. Since last year the camp undertakes sessions for children with special needs. In 2017 about one thousand children were able to rest at the summer camp Feldman Ecopark. Children rest in summer camps Feldman Ecopark free of charge.
