Last Saturday, May 20, the International Charitable Foundation “Oleksandr Feldman Foundation” joined the number of the participants of the global event “Night of Museums” for the seventh time. The Foundation presented the exhibitions and entertainments on several art-locations of Ukraine at the same time – in Feldman Ecopark and AVEC Gallery (Kharkiv), in Regional Local History Museum (Vinnytsia), in the National Centre of Folk Culture “Ivan Honchar Museum” and Khlebnia Gallery (Kyiv). A record number of people visited them – more than 60,000 Ukrainians and the guests of our country.
One of the central cultural projects of the ICF “Oleksandr Feldman Foundation” – the museum of private collection “Feldman Family Museum” – presented four unique exhibitions on the Night of Museums. The collection of Cossack and Samurai weaponry and signet rings of the Cossack leaders “The Warrior’s Way – One for Two” was presented in Vinnytsia. In two exhibition halls in Kyiv, the items of Trypillian ceramics and Crimean Tatar weapons and accoutrements were presented. In Kharkiv, AVEC Gallery started the exhibition “The History on the Blade,” which united rare cultural artifacts – the ancient melee weapon. Moreover, the guests were able to watch at the works “Jerusalem. The Youth of the Eternal City” by photo artists and the works by a famous Israeli sculptor who was born in Kharkiv – “Yuliia Segal. 60 years later.”
“This year, the geography of the event carried out by our Foundation was extended to almost the whole of Ukraine, and the exhibitions, concerts, shows and quests were visited by the unusually record number of guests – more than 60,000 persons,” the director of the ICF “Oleksandr Feldman Foundation” Oleksandr Feldman noted. “The team of the Foundation is sure that it is not the end and we will certainly continue making our contribution into the cultural enrichment of the country. Today, Ukrainians already have an opportunity to learn the history with the help of ancient art objects, to develop and to enjoy the picturesque rest surrounded by animals, to relax on the live concerts, and we provide this opportunity to Ukraine free of charge and not only during the Night of Museums event, but every day.”
The real fairy show of the global event “Night of Museums” in Kharkiv was a motor rally of retro cars. The ancient legends went all over the central roads of the city and ‘performed’ alive in the showrooms. Closer to the evening, the musical ‘baton’ was taken by the chamber orchestra “String Chapel” led by Arkadii Korniev. The virtuosos gave a concert in the heart of Kharkiv – on the roof of Platinum plaza.
The Regional Landscape Park surprised the visitors as well: a huge balloon and a DJ who played his best tracks met the guests at the entrance. The masters demonstrated the light show of sand animation on the main path, and with the sunset they were alternated with the artists with their grandiose fire show. The exclusive twist of the evening was the unique for Ukraine night excursion along the Ecopark telling about the predatory kings of our planet. The event also included a lot of quests, competitions and prize drawing.
It should be reminded that Night of Museums is a global event devoted to International Museum Day. It was first carried out in Berlin 20 years ago. Only during this night, the residents of the whole planet are able to watch many museum expositions. By carrying out the similar events, the organizers have a common goal – to demonstrate the resource, the possibilities and the potential of modern museums and to attract the younger generation to these places.
