The informational site Art Picnic Weekends appeared in the Regional Landscape Park Feldman Ecopark, where the volunteers and curators of the project have already set to work attracting new participants. It will be open till the end of summer on weekdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on weekends from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Everyone, who wants to join the team of Slava Frolova, will be able to get all the necessary information and to fill in a form.
“We inform the guests of Ecopark about the Art Picnic, tell about all of its 10 directions and the future locations. We answer numerous questions and help to choose a pleasing activity. For example, to share a photo story about a summer journey to Asia, to carry out a poetry party or an ebru master class,” the volunteer adviser of the Art Picnic project in Feldman Ecopark Kseniia Us told. “The team needs creative people, who have free time and wish to join the organizational process.”
According to Kseniia she decided to take part in the Art Picnic by Slava Frolova immediately after reading the information about it on Feldman Ecopark’s website.
“It is not the first volunteer experience for me. As a matter of fact, volunteering is a synonym of development for me. If I find out about some interesting events, I almost never stand aside. Aside from that, I am a second-year student of Kharkiv State Academy of Culture with the field of specialization ‘stage and mass festivities direction.’ That is why the participation in the organization of large-scale shows, like the one planned in this famous project, is an invaluable practice for me,” Kseniia Us told.
There are already quite many participants alike in the team of the Art Picnic, its organizers say.
“We have already expanded beyond the limit of one hundred of those who want to be volunteers. It should be noted that Kharkiv residents watched closely the Art Picnic carried out in Kyiv, and many of them wished to personally experience the atmosphere of this cultural, social and multidisciplinary platform. 80% of the filled questionnaires were submitted by girls and women with various talents who want to demonstrate them during the Art Picnic,” the project curator Alla Tymoshenko told. “The youngest participant, who responded to the call for joining our friendly family and become a volunteer, is an 11-year-old girl from Kharkiv. There are even volunteers, who amaze with their determination. For example, Anna – she lives and works in Kyiv, and visited the previous seasons of the Art Picnic as a guest. According to her words, she has always wanted to become a part of the team. Anna took her mother to the meeting for her to be able to join the event, so a knitting master class can be already included into the programme.”
Traditionally, the project curator carries out meetings with volunteers in order to get to know each other and to voice the project’s values. “30 persons are actively involved in the preparation right now. That is why we continue to look for people, adjust duty scheme, become acquainted with NGOs in order to exchange knowledge and experience, and form our ‘secret statute’ to join the volunteer team,” Alla Tymoshenko shared the ‘insider’ information. “Together with curators and volunteers we are going to create a unique format for everyone, a centre aimed not at the exhortation, but, on the contrary, at the formation of personal view, friendly discussions, tolerant and mutual relations.”
It should be reminded that the opening of the project will take place in Feldman Ecopark on August 5-6. It is expected that it will be a rich cultural and educational programme and public interaction.
