In March, 2017 Kharkiv citizens will be able to get acquainted with a grandiose exhibition of sacred relics of samurai and Cossack eras “The warrior’s way – one for two”. It will be presented to the audience in the AVEC Gallery within the All-Ukrainian tour.
The exposition will include about hundred objects from FELDMAN FAMILY MUSEUM — a private museum collection of collector and patron Oleksandr Feldman. The Japanese katana swords and the Cossack sabers, spearheads and a maces, and also signet rings known to wide audience mainly by portraits of the Ukrainian hetmen. Each of these unique objects is interesting as a weapons artwork, and as a heraldic attraction, as a rarity related to the history and destinies of certain people. “This is the weapon of glory and symbols of power of legendary heroes of the past” — the exhibition’s organizers emphasize. According to them, this unexpected from the first sight comparison of the Cossack and the Samurai helps to understand and to assess Ukrainian cultural heritage, to see it in the context of global history, to acknowledge the imperishable significance of moral values.
“We want to draw parallels between these far at first sight culture-historical phenomena, to show their similarity and distinction — the collector and the founder of the museum Oleksandr Feldman tells, – to emphasize clearly the timeless universal significance of such moral values as honor, valor, self-sacrifice”.
It should be reminded that this historical and educational project, unique by its conception and content was presented by the International Charitable Foundation “Oleksandr Feldman Foundation” on March 11, 2016 in Kiev. The exhibition attracted great interest of the public and specialists, was held in Chernihiv, Kanev and now takes place in Lviv.
