“Saving the Life You Find a Friend” campaign takes place in the city centre

Along with already traditional “Saving the Life You Find a Friend” rehoming campaigns in the territory of Ecopark the All-Ukrainian Service for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Feldman Ecopark Good Home” carries them out near an exit of the Central Rynok underground station. Every weekend, on Saturdays and Sundays the volunteer tent of “The Good Home” appears there (weather permitting).

According to Iryna Podvoiska, the head of the Good Home, the Central Market as the place for search of owners to homeless kittens and puppies isn’t chosen at random. So-called “boxmen” — people who buy the newborn little beggars for sale are extremely active here. “This most real “business on blood”: animals stay in very poor conditions, they are often vehicles of disease, and moreover, when the number of kittens increases (the rehoming is not a rapid process and pets need to be contained and fed somewhere), the “boxmen” simply throw them out — Iryna Podvoiska emphasizes. – Giving up animals to “boxmen” is just irresponsibility: in this way people having paid a little money to boxmen pass the buck of the problem of home born little beggars”.

All kittens and puppies offered by volunteers of the Good Home free of charge are vaccinated; their new owners are given concessional coupons on sterilization, veterinary service and information materials. The Good Home gives informational help to people searching new home for their own or found animals – holds photo shoots and places information in social networks and media. It should be reminded that Feldman Ecopark Good Home was established in 2010. During the period of its existence it helped to find reliable owners for more than 15,000 animals. In 2016, during the campaign “Saving the Life You Find a Friend” (May-October), 600 animals found their homes.
