Predators’ numbers have grown: four northwestern wolf cubs were born

The number of predators continues to increase in the Feldman Ecopark – a couple of northwestern wolves, Aza and Baron, gave birth to four cubs.

The next months, the attentive parents will devote to upbringing of their breed. Aza and Baron will have to teach the helpless wolf cubs how to hunt. Meanwhile, the predatory four is just starting to diversify their diet, adding meat to mother’s milk.

Zoologists state that in the nature, these predators live in family pack during several years, and leave their ‘home’ only after growing wise. The Feldman Ecopark’s northwestern wolves will also live with their parents until learnt how to live independent life. Whether they will be given to the other zoos or will continue to live on the territory of the Ecopark, the specialists are not hurry to give the answer. “The wolf cubs are too small to solve their destiny right now, they need to become stronger and to learn more from their parents. Our main task is to provide them with the right diet and timely medical procedures. They will soon undergo the first vaccination and dehelmintization,” the veterinary of the Feldman Ecopark Anna Zhukovska told.

It should be reminded that it is not the first increase of the wolves’ number in the Feldman Ecopark – another one wolf Dasha gave birth to four cubs this year as well.

It should be noted that northwestern, gray and Alaskan tundra wolves live in the Regional Landscape Park. The total number of these predators is 17.
