Forest School, Pony Farm and Rabbit Farm – these and other novelties were presented by the Summer Camp of Feldman Ecopark this season. It is the third year when the region’s single free complex of children’s health-improving and educational camps starts its activity in the territory of the Regional Landscape Park. From the beginning of June to the end of August, children from Kharkiv oblast aged 8-14 are able to have a rest here and to make good use of their time.
“This year, there were a lot of those who wished to have a rest here, and the registration started in early spring. The sessions are already formed till the end of August. We tried to increase their number as much as possible for as many children as possible to be able to arrive here,” the head of Feldman Ecopark’s humanitarian programmes Iryna Yavorska told. “We have a city camp and a regional camp, the camps for the members of Children’s Academy and the children of our staff. Starting from 2016, we also have a camp for children with special needs. Each of these camps has its own programme, however, all of them equally use all resources and demonstrate all possibilities of Feldman Ecopark.”
According to her words, in addition to the traditional lessons in the Horse Complex, the Theatre of Children and Animals and the Master City, the new and interesting directions aimed at profound study of biology appeared.
“During the excursion lessons of the Forest School, children will be able to watch the wildlife – to learn flora, small mammals, birds, amphibians, and insects. They will be able to develop skills of domestic animal care in the Kind Donkey farm, Rabbit Farm, Pony Farm, and to grow plants in our greenhouse and during the lessons of the Young Foresters circle. And of course, inflatable amusements, games, walking-tours, lake swimming and other summer entertainments are waiting for the children,” Iryna Yavorska told.
It should be reminded that children’s health-improving and educational camps are open during the summer holidays in Feldman Ecopark since 2015. In addition to recreation and health improvement, sports activities and communication with peers, children have the opportunity to acquire additional knowledge and skills of animal and plant care – to get to know the nature better and to love it more. Children stay in the camp during the daytime (from 10 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. with hot dinners and transportation with the company’s bus). Every session lasts for 6 days (from Tuesday to Sunday).
The recreation programme includes excursions, walking tours, educational and entertaining activities. The special attention is paid to children with special needs – their lessons include eco-therapy and are carried out with regard to the individual peculiarities. The camps are absolutely free of charge for all children.
