The piano with unusual design is established in the AVEC Gallery within the “Art&Piano. Play impressively!” project. It is one of eight musical instruments of original design decorated by the Kharkiv artists. They are placed in different landmark locations of the Kharkiv city.
“The installation presented in the AVEC Gallery is called “The coral piano”. The authors are Victoriia Teletien and Yurii Shtaida. They highly poetically expressed the concept, having decided to fill the atrium (showroom) space with the allusions of the Ocean, the Music and the Eternity. “The coral piano” will naturally complement this place, well known for its wonderful mollusc shell exhibitions, — the “Art&Piano. Play impressively!” project coordinator Valeriia Mikhalska told. In general, the AVEC Gallery is chosen not accidentally, this grandiose complex in the heart of Kharkiv accumulates Art in all its variety and interrelation. Not accidentally, here, in a courtyard, Frank Meisler’s “Cello concert” and “Violinist on the Roof” sculpture are placed.
Everyone wishing to play a coral piano will be able to do it. The instrument will stay in the AVEC Gallery till March 28. On March 25, from 16:00 to 18:00 the Kharkiv poets will join “Art&Piano. Play impressively!” project. They will be spouting poetry topical to the fine arts and music to the accompaniment of a piano.
It should be reminded that “Art&Piano. Play impressively!” is the project within the KharkivMusicFest classical music festival that takes place in Kharkiv from March 14 to March 29.
The AVEC Gallery (Sumska St., 70) works from 10:00 to 22:00 daily, without breaks and days off. The entrance is free!
