Exhibition “Israel in the eyes of Kharkiv residents” opened in AVEC Gallery

The photo exhibition “Israel in the eyes of Kharkiv residents” devoted to the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the State of Israel was opened in the AVEC Gallery. The exhibition was prepared by the Israeli Cultural Centre in Kharkiv under the Embassy of the State of Israel to Ukraine.

The exhibited works were selected for the exhibition according to the results of the competition “Israel sheli – My Israel,” which was held on social networks by the Israeli Cultural Centre in Kharkiv.

“The participants of the competition – the residents of Kharkiv – presented their works, which reflect their vision of the State of Israel – its history, culture, architecture, and residents. Each of them reflects one of the sides of this many-sided country, whose contribution to the global culture cannot be overestimated. Israel is great not only with its history and modern achievements. Israel is one of the richest cultures, it is a popular Israeli cuisine, it is the sea and the blue sky with white clouds. It is the cultural symbols and codes, which may be unraveled over and over again,” the organizers of the exhibition tell.

It should be reminded that a year ago, the Israeli Cultural Centre in Kharkiv organized another interesting photo exhibition in the AVEC Gallery devoted to Israel’s Independence Day – the works by young Israeli photographers “Jerusalem. The youth of the eternal city.” And last November, the Gallery also exhibited the works by more than 70 modern Israeli artists, which were painted on an unusual material – wooden badminton rackets: the exhibition “Beach rackets. Made in Israel.”

The photo exhibition “Israel in the eyes of Kharkiv residents” will be open during two weeks. The AVEC Gallery (Kharkiv, 70, Sumska Str.) is open every day, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The entrance is free!
