King rabbits appeared in Feldman Ecopark

Four young coneys of rare beauty of Rex breed (rex – lat. the monarch, the tsar, the king) settled in the Regional Landscape Park. Two of them are spotty colored, similar to cheetahs, and two others are black-and-white dalmatians. The new settlers will live on the Rabbit Farm under the supervision of our young naturalists, and the visitors of the Feldman Ecopark will be able to admire them. Besides, long-eared fluffy favorites will become the participants of an animal therapy for children with special needs and will take part in lessons of the Early Childhood Development School “Eco Knower”.

“The young coneys are very tender and mild, they have fur similar to plush toys, alluring to stroke. They are born children’s doctors and tutors, we are very glad that such wonderful new friends for our children appeared” — the head of humanitarian projects of Feldman Ecopark Iryna Yavorska told.

It should be noted that Rex Rabbits came from France where they have been developed nearly 100 years ago. These rabbits has dense, silky, soft and brilliant fur. It has no layering that makes it look trimmed as velour.

It should be reminded that the Rabbit Farm (together with Forest School and Pony Farm) appeared in the Feldman Ecopark this summer. Nearly three tens rabbits of different decorative breeds live there are under the supervision of pupils of the Children’s Ecology and Nature Study Academy. Some special cuties of the Rabbit Farm participate in the rodentia-therapy – a special type of the animal therapy helping children with special needs to overcome difficulties with communication and socialization.
