The Feldman Ecopark continues the tradition to celebrate together with the residents of Kharkiv national and religious holidays. One of the brightest Jewish holidays – Lag BaOmer – was celebrated in the Regional Landscape Park on May 26. It is customary to have fun this day, to spend time with children outside, to light campfires and to train at archery.
The festivities started with the traditional musical parade of the students of Jewish schools accompanied with brass band. After that, the guests of the Feldman Ecopark were congratulated by Moshe Moskovitz, the chief rabbi of Kharkiv, who explained in his speech the philosophy of Lag BaOmer – close-knit family, peace and well-being at home through the belief in God. After the official part of the event was finished, its participants lit the big fire symbolizing the light of Truth. This traditional ritual is performed by Jews across the world on this day.
The cheerful holiday continued in the Horse Complex, where the theatrical performance took place. Young visitors were able to enjoy trampoline jumps and archery.
The holidays of the peoples of the world is one of main directions of the Feldman Ecopark’s life full of various events. Celebrating these holidays here, people share their traditions, learn new customs of other people, and take part in cultural exchange. And everyone is able to do this.
“We are proud that people of all nationalities and religions feel themselves comfortably in our Ecopark,” Oleksandr Feldman, the founder of the Ecopark told. “I think that our programme of tolerance unites people, help them to find mutual understanding and mutual respect.”
