One of the main events in social and cultural life of Kharkiv this summer and autumn – Art Picnic Weekends in Feldman Ecopark – started this weekend, August 5-6. An abnormally hot weather was not an obstacle: thousands of Kharkiv residents and guests from other cities took part in various events and activities of Art Picnic, while there were more than 100 of them during the first two days.
“There are no guests at Art Picnic, as everyone is a participant and co-organizer. It is not a festival, but a multilevel social project, which may be improved by anyone! We are all a big team, the main goal of which is to do good,” the founder of Art Picnic and a renowned TV host Slava Frolova emphasized. “Art Picnic is already well-known in Kyiv, Odesa and Rivne. We managed to organize it in Kharkiv during the extremely short term – there was only a month from making a decision to the opening! It was possible to do this thanks to our partners and like-minded people – the ICF “Oleksandr Feldman Foundation” and Feldman Ecopark, as we have a lot in common, including, first of all, the wish to make our world better. Moreover, in Kharkiv, we’ve met a lot of wonderful people who expressed their desire to become the volunteers of Art Picnic.”
“We have a lot in common with Slava Frolova and her associates: both we and they implement social and cultural projects for a long time and we have the same approaches: we are sure that everyone must have an opportunity to take part in them regardless of material status, level of preparation or any other conditions. Therefore, the wish to organize a joint large-scale project is quite logical,” the director of the ICF “Oleksandr Feldman Foundation” Maksym Vodka noted.
Various events were carried out on the locations of Art Picnic from morning till late evening. One of the most efficient was the Children direction – young visitors were able to take part in nearly 40 various cheerful and interesting master classes, games and useful events and meetings. The Art direction was also very popular among the participants of Art Picnic – everyone was able to try him/herself as a real artist or creator.
Every visitor was able to choose the most interesting activity – yoga, dances and various kinds of sport for active ones, or a hammock with book, interesting meetings, useful master classes and lectures for the more quiet and thoughtful ones. The kaleidoscope of amazing events was enhanced with the street library, theatre and film shows. There were a lot of places to have a snack and to buy an original souvenir from the handicraftsmen.
The real adornment of Art Picnic was its concert programme. Star hosts Vasilisa Frolova and Karolina Ashion on Saturday, Hlib Tymoshenko and Ihor Dydenko on Sunday, extremely popular headliners PUR:PUR and Epolets, as well as the constellation of the talented bands – Grazhdanin Topinambur and Karliki Brokkoli, Hapochka, Bila Vezha, Fight 2 night, Go-a, Kimnata Gretchen – left no one indifferent during the weekend.
The organizers have equally ambitious plans for the next Art Picnic Weekends in Feldman Ecopark, which are waiting for the friends during the next weekend, as well as each weekend till the end of September. There will be even more interested participants, new directions and locations, the most unexpected twists and interesting themes: everything to be in line with the slogan of Art Picnic “Just Imagine and Everything will Come True!”
