On Saturday night, the Centre of Cheiroptera Rehabilitation released over 2,500 bats which had been sheltered on wintering, and on Sunday the Centre for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Good Home” released more than 1,00 pheasants in nature. Both events have taken place under the auspices of the World Public Animal Rehabilitation and Reintegration Foundation.
This is already the sixth release of bats since the establishment of the Centre of Cheiroptera Rehabilitation Feldman Ecopark, which began its work in 2013. This time we manage to return to nature the record number of animals belonging to rare species, included into the Red List, got to the Centre of rehabilitation not only from the Kharkiv region, but also from other regions of our country, including Poltava and Dnipropetrovsk.
The release of bats in Feldman Ecopark was accompanied by the thematic festive programme prepared specially for this day, including “Hobby magic”, quick master classes allowing to create a souvenir “Little Bat,”, game programme for kids and a quiz “What do you know about the bats?”.
The Sunday release of pheasants in Feldman Ecopark took place near the Horse Complex. At this time, pheasants form couples and soon get offspring. The specialists of “Good Home” are sure that these noble birds will breed over time, reclaiming new areas. It is the second time “Good Home” releases the rehabilitated pheasants brought by partial people.
The founder of the Social and Humanitarian Complex Oleksandr Feldman emphasizes that such campaigns when animals are released in nature, are of great importance and are regularly carried out in Feldman Ecopark. “It is highly important not only to rescue the animal in need of assistance or protection. It is much more important to maintain the species diversity that was initially inherent to the nature to which threatens the irresponsible attitude of people. Therefore, the campaigns of animal release take place regularly. For example, a week ago in Feldman Ecopark more than 1,200 forest birds have been returned to nature”— Oleksandr Feldman says.
Besides, on Sunday the Feldman Ecopark celebrated the World Rock-n-roll Day in keeping with the best traditions – cheerfully and excitingly. Master classes, a quiz and the game programme “Children’s Hour” have been devoted to the holiday.
The Sunday performance by the Theatre of Children and Animals was devoted to other interesting holiday, the International Primrose Day.
