The Regional Landscape Park Feldman Ecopark develops cooperation with the Kharkiv State Zooveterinary Academy, providing training facilities for practical studies for undergraduates by sharing the experience and knowledge of the specialists.
On Monday, October 30, the second-year postgraduate students of Veterinary Medicine of the Kharkiv State Zooveterinary Academy conducted a practical training in parasitology in Feldman Ecopark during which they made sampling and improved other working skills with four-legged patients. Future veterinarians visited sectors with various animals presented there and then attended a lecture of skilled veterinarians practicing in the Feldman Ecopark.
According to the Feldman Ecopark’s deputy director of zootechnics Valeriia Ivashchenko, cooperation with the academy in this direction will continue.
“Conduction of lessons in the Feldman Ecopark is a unique opportunity for students of the Zooveterinary Academy. Here the zoological collection contains rare and exotic animals that are, as a rule, not presented in common educational institutions specializing in training of veterinarians. Considering that keeping of exotic animals constantly grows and the demand in experts which are capable to treat exotic pets increases” — Valeriia Ivashchenko says.
It should be reminded that the representatives Feldman Ecopark participated in the scientific conference devoted to the sanitary and veterinary examination issues which took place on September 14-15 in the Kharkiv State Zooveterinary Academy and presented to educational institution a collection of crested parrots. Earlier the collections of pheasants, Vietnamese pot-bellied pigs, goats and other animals were delivered to the Zooveterinary Academy from the Feldman Ecopark.
