The jays salvaged by employees of Feldman Ecopark were released into a natural environment. According to specialists, nestlings have got stronger and can already live in nature independently.
“Six jay nestlings thrown by parents in the wood were found by Kharkov citizens and brought to us on rehabilitation — the manager of the sector of birds Feldman Ecopark Vladimir Perekhodovich told. — Mission was difficult, but feasible – to keep birds’ life and to substitute mother. From first minute foundlings were under the all-day supervision. They had the correct temperature condition, regular balanced and natural food according to the schedule. When nestlings got stronger, we began to leave them out to the spacious open-air cage for training flights. Preparation for future independent life is an important part of rehabilitation for return of birds to a native habitat”.
When jays have grown up and “became on a wing”, they were left out in the wood on the territory of the Regional Landscape Park. The founder of Ecopark Alexander Feldman also participated in this festive event together with young naturalists and visitors. According to him, the traditional release of birds, bats, squirrels and other animals in a native habitat has not only a nature protection, but also a great educational value.
“It is necessary for the child to explain on examples the value of others life and freedom since childhood. Releasing the birds into the sky, he learns to be a person” — Alexander Feldman emphasized.
We will note that this spring the Feldman Ecopark’s specialists released to nature more than 300 salvaged birds.
We will mention that the All-Ukrainian Service for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Feldman Ecopark Good Home” conducts work for more than three years. During its existence specialists cured and found home for more than two thousand animals.
