On the first day of May, nearly 200 cyclists gathered in Feldman Ecopark to take part in the great cycling event with the presentation of the new path on the Crazy Bikes route.
After the meeting near the Bicyclist Monument on Bilhorodske Shosse, nearly a hundred of cycling fans, including the representatives of Velo Kharkiv and Youth Council of Kharkiv Regional trade union amalgamation, moved towards the Regional Landscape Park, where they were joined by other fans of two-wheeled outdoor activities. A new path was represented here, on the Crazy Bikes route.
“Due to the fact that not so long ago there was a snow in the forest and the weather wasn’t favourable, some sections of the path remained waterlogged, but the most part was accessible,” the Feldman Crazy Bikes project coordinator Oleksii Korchak tells. According to his words, the route was approved by cyclist community and is ready for competitions.
The new path presented on May 1, is a 2.5km route with complicated sections and special constructions. The path is technically difficult and requires some experience and specific skills from the athletes. It is expected that the competitions here will be a breathtaking and remarkable sight.
“We are planning to hold the competitions in the beginning of June,” Oleksii Korchak says. “We just need to finish some technical details and draw the map of the route to get registered for competitions.”
The cross-country bicycle track “Crazy Bikes” located in Feldman Ecopark is a 8km route with 500m, 1,000m and 3,240m and 5km long circuits with counter slopes, 12 shors with the length of more than 150m, three wooden sections, small pump sections and 20-centimeter drops. The route is constructed so that it will be interesting not only for the athletes, but also for cycling fans without special skills to have a ride along the track. The new environmental project “Feldman Crazy Bikes” is the part of the 1,000 Teams Tournament programme carried out by the International Charitable Foundation “Oleksandr Feldman Foundation.”
