The group of first-year students of Department of Practical Psychology of the Odessa National Maritime University arrived to the Centre of Psychological Rehabilitation Feldman Ecopark. Throughout the week, they will study modern techniques of psycho correctional influence using the animal therapy and will be engaged in volunteer activity, putting the gained knowledge into practice.
“Last year we presented the project for students psychologists of the Ukrainian higher education institutions uniting profile volunteer activity and training of specialists on the basis of our Centre. The residents of Odessa were the first to respond. Eight future practical psychologists together with the Chair, Department of Practical Psychology of Odessa National Maritime University, Cand. Sc. (Psychology), Associate Professor Rosina Shevchenko arrived in Kharkiv yesterday and have already started training — the head of the psychological service of the Centre of Psychological Rehabilitation Feldman Ecopark Tetiana Aliieva told. – We prepared a highly topical programme for our guests including orientation lectures, workshops and trainings, work with different categories of participants of rehabilitation programmes of our Centre. The master classes in equine-assisted therapy, a practical training in Canis therapy for future mothers and children with special needs, outdoor “lessons of kindness” in specialized children’s boarding schools and many other things”.
Upon completion of this one-week course, the Odessa students will get the volunteer certificates from the Centre of Psychological Rehabilitation Feldman Ecopark confirming the gained knowledge and skills. It should be noted that currently this is the only establishment in our country with comprehensive and systematic using of animal therapy in the work.
It should be remind that in spring 2017, the students of the National University of Civil Protection of Ukraine underwent practice the Centre of Psychological Rehabilitation Feldman Ecopark. Besides, it should be reminded that the Centre of Psychosocial Rehabilitation on the basis of Feldman Ecopark works since 2013 and helps children with behavioral disorders, diseases and special needs. The Centre also renders assistance to adults, in particular, ATO veterans and families of IDPs.
