On Sunday evening, a wounded swan was brought to the Social and Humanitarian Multi-Complex from Kupiansk. The day before a local resident found a swan with wing injury. He took the bird home, and then, with the assistance of animal protection activists brought it to the Centre for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Feldman Ecopark Good Home”.
“The bird is a young individual; a yearling got open wing fracture about a week ago. The wing had to be amputated. Now the bird’s condition is satisfactory and does not cause concern, – the Feldman Ecopark’s veterinary specialists told, – Now the swan is in quarantine box. Deworming and other necessary procedures were conducted. We give it water from the saw and feed a little bit. We hope that our patient will soon recover.”
Once rescued swan is strong enough, it will join relatives on the Swan Lake. There a bird will be able to live in almost natural conditions, but under supervision and on a full board basis.
It should be reminded that a stork rescued in Zolochiv, whose family was shot undergoes rehabilitation on the Swan Lake Feldman Ecopark. It should be also reminded that the Swan Lake is a unique nature complex for water birds, which exists in the territory of Feldman Ecopark for two years. Among the great number of birds – swans, ducks, storks and even pelicans – living here under the care of animal keepers, the part was rescued and underwent rehabilitation by efforts of the specialists of the Centre for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Feldman Ecopark Good Home.”
