A unique ground for treatment by horse-riding appeared at Feldman Ecopark

Feldman Ecopark developed a unique ground for treatment by horse-riding – a hippo-path for psychological correction sessions. The idea to create such a facility was brought forward by members of the Center for Psycho-Social Rehabilitation of Children and Teenagers at Feldman Ecopark.

‘The hippo-path is an author’s project second to none,’ says Candidate of Sciences in Psychology, head of the Center for Psycho-Social Rehabilitation of Children and Teenagers Tatiana Aliyeva. ‘Our hippo-path is situated in a picturesque forest, with various signs on the trees that help children to find their way around, learn traffic rules while on horseback and develop their speaking and logical thinking skills.’

Today the hippo-path is extensively used for sessions with children with special needs in various categories, and to rehabilitate children with all kinds of psycho-emotional disturbances. For every patient, specialists of the center create a separate rehabilitation program.

Also, the Center’s psychologists introduced a new form of sessions, a family hippo-therapy. Its main goal is to relieve conflict-generated strains and restore a comfortable microclimate of the family the members of which should learn how to understand each other and be tolerant of another person’s opinion. The family hippo-therapy is often applied in sessions with internally displaced persons from the ATO area. As psychologists say, this method of rehabilitation helps to stabilize the emotional state of the victims and relieve them from distress.

It should be noted that the Center of Psycho-Social Rehabilitation was attended by over 700 people in the summer and autumn period.
