Feldman Ecopark Horse Complex has new residents – two Lipizzans, the Friesian, the Welsh Pony and two couples of the American Miniature Horses found home here. The animals arrived from Ukrainian and foreign clubs. They have already adapted in their new home and started to take part in the activities of the Social and Humanitarian Multi-Complex. Each of them now has a work based on the specific character and breed.
“The Lipizzans are wonderful saddle horses originated from the Arabians. They are the born artists for our horse theatre. The Friesians are usually called ‘black pearls.’ They are big, strong and can participate in dressage and carriage driving competitions. We have already purchased a lightweight carriage for our young ‘pearl’ to be able to take kids for a drive on weekends,” the Head of humanitarian programs in Feldman Ecopark Iryna Yavorska told. “The Welsh Pony will enrich our friendly collective in the Pony Club, where the smallest members of the Children’s Ecology and Nature Study Academy learn to ride and to softly train the ungulates. The most honorary and responsible ‘job’ will be given to the American Miniature Horses – they will take part in the animal-assisted therapy lessons for children with special needs given by the Centre for Psychosocial Rehabilitation.”
It should be noted that the Feldman Ecopark Horse Complex is one of the largest in Ukraine considering the number of animals and diversity of breeds. More than 50 horses of 16 breeds, nearly 30 ponies and nearly 20 donkeys are kept here. The Horse Complex is a location for the Centre for Non-Olympic Kinds of Equestrian Sport, the Classic Equestrian Sports Group, the Horse Theatre, the Pony Club, the Kind Donkey Farm and other departments of the Children’s Ecology and Nature Study Academy. All lessons are free of charge.
