Two raccoon dogs saved from the hunters in Rivne oblast found their home in the Feldman Ecopark. The All-Ukrainian Service for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Feldman Ecopark Good Home” got the predators from a resident of Kyiv, who saved them and did not know what to do with them.
“Unfortunately, the raccoon dogs are used by unscrupulous hunters to train dogs to hunt. The animals were brought to us is stressful condition, and currently, they undergo the rehabilitation course. They are two males aged 1.5 and 2,” the deputy director of the Feldman Ecopark Valeriia Ivashchenko.
The animals undergone dehelmintization, were treated from ectoparasites and vaccinated. They are very friendly and get in touch with the workers of the Ecopark easily. There were no raccoon dogs in the Regional Landscape Park earlier. They are currently in quarantine; however, soon they will get new enclosure, constructed for them. As both of the rescued animals are males, the specialists of the Feldman Ecopark will start to search for couples for them.
