The collection of reptiles of the Feldman Ecopark is supplemented with a green iguana and cuvier’s dwarf caiman. New animals arrived to the Regional Landscape Park from Odesa. It is planned to construct the new home especially for the reptiles.
“We will make everything possible to provide our new animals with all necessary conditions, for them to begin breeding. The terrarium is planned for opening in the beginning of June – by the birthday of the Feldman Ecopark. Meanwhile, the animals are living in the temporary terrariums,” the Feldman Ecopark deputy director of zootechnic issues Valeriia Ivashchenko told.
It should be noted that the specialists have already started to look for a couple for the crocodile. The green iguana is luckier – three congeners have already been living in the Feldman Ecopark before the arrival of this exotic lizard.
It should be reminded that the collection of the Feldman Ecopark has been recently supplemented with 14 reptiles, including common snapping turtles, alligator snapping turtles, yellow-footed tortoises, red-footed tortoises, radiated tortoises, Geoffroy’s toadhead turtles, African spurred tortoises and mata mata. The cuvier’s dwarf caiman is the first crocodile in the Ecopark. Some of the new animals will take part in the animal-assisted therapy.
