The new predatory resident appeared in the Feldman Ecopark – a cougar named Eve. The animal is two years old. It will be possible to see this impressive representative of felines this weekend.
“This cougar has very associative character, she loves human company,” the zootechnic deputy director of the Feldman Ecopark Valeria Ivashchenko tells. “When the workers bring food to her, she waits for them to stroke her and makes an amazing purr, and only after that she starts eating.”
According to the Ecopark’s vets, the new resident has already undergone the quarantine regime: the animal was examined and vaccinated. Eve currently feels good and is ready for settlement in her new home. By the way, the spacious enclosure was prepared specially for Eve. The cougar will live near her ‘fellows’.
It should be noted that cougars are endangered species: their natural habitat constantly reduces, and some subspecies are registered as protected animals. There are over 80 predators on the territory of the Feldman Ecopark, including 3 cougars. In general, the Ecopark’s collection consists of 2000 animals.
