Children of the sun visited Feldman Ecopark

Feldman Ecopark continues its active work aimed at the support of children with special needs. Last weekend, when the International Day of Families and Mother’s Day was celebrated here, the Regional Landscape Park was visited by ‘sunny’ kids.

The joint event of Feldman Ecopark and Kharkiv Charitable Organization of Parents with Children with Chromosomal Peculiarities and Geneticists “Children of the Sun” included excursions along the paths of the Regional Landscape Park, zoo, including the petting zoo, and family master classes. Moreover, the ‘sunny’ children visited the Horse Complex, became the audience of the Theatre of Children and Animals, and took part in “Funny starts.”

“We came here to celebrate the Day of Families and Mother’s Day on the invitation of Feldman Ecopark, where our children are treated with huge love. They arrange various events interesting for the kids. That is why children love this wonderful place, which we always visit with pleasure,” the president of Kharkiv Charitable Organization of Parents with Children with Chromosomal Peculiarities and Geneticists Iryna Shevchenko tells. “Of course, these visits are exclusively useful for our special children. Here they are able to see the animal world and touch the animals in the petting zoo, to stroke and hug them. It is the pleasant and good experience for them.”

According to the member of the Organization Tetiana Krokhmal, the ‘sunny’ children’s visits of Feldman Ecopark become a good tradition. “It is the second year when we celebrate the Day of Families in the wonderful Ecopark. We like to be here because the atmosphere and mood are always good here, and we are always full of positive energy,” she shared her impressions.

The NGO is sure that Feldman Ecopark has a considerable potential for psychosocial rehabilitation of their special children. “We hope that the cooperation with Feldman Ecopark will develop and we will be able to arrange a children’s camp for our children. It would be wonderful because there is a very good environment here – forest, animals and kind people. Our children feel themselves comfortably here, and the programme of their rest will be rich, interesting and useful,” Iryna Shevchenko considers.
