The Centre for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Feldman Ecopark Good Home” accepted two silver foxes from animal protection activists. The latter redeemed animals from a training hunting center. These animals could face a horrible fate of becoming living training ‘tools’ for hunting dogs.
“We have recently seen an ad about the sale of these two foxes in the Region of Kropyvnytskyi. We have raised funds and we thank everyone who responded! We also solved the transportation issue – kind people helped. After that, we redeemed the animals and sent it to a safe place – to Feldman Ecopark Good Home,” an animal rights activists from Chernivtsi Alisa Hryshchenkova shared the algorithm of successful rescue operation.
Now, thanks to volunteers, the foxes are safe – they have already undergone examination and are currently staying in quarantine. After vaccination and other necessary procedures, the silver foxes will be settled in the rehabilitation enclosures.
“These foxes are adult male and female. People who rescued them have already named them – Mykyta and Alisa. We take lab tests now, but the general condition of both animals are satisfactory – they have no injuries, their fur is healthy and they have normal appetite. It looks like the female is pregnant – we are going to check this,” the workers at Feldman Ecopark told. “We are going to leave silver foxes here, as they will not be able to survive in the nature by their own. Here, they will live in comfortable conditions and, perhaps, will have offspring that may take part in reintroduction programmes.”
It should be reminded that silver foxes Mykyta and Alisa are not the first animals of Feldman Ecopark, who were rescued from cruel death at training hunting centers and fur farms. Raccoon dogs, Arctic foxes, European badgers and foxes with similar stories are already living here. It should also be reminded that since its establishment, Feldman Ecopark Good Home managed to rescue more than 6,000 wild animals and find new owners to nearly 22,000 domestic ones. The project is implemented under the patronage of International Charitable Foundation “Alexander Feldman Foundation.”
