A four-day festive weekend with national flavour and thematic programme devoted to the 22nd anniversary of the adoption of the Basic Law ended yesterday in the Social and Humanitarian Multi-Complex.
The entertaining programme for the visitors to Feldman Ecopark, which started on Constitution Day, June 28, included an interesting quiz for children and adults – the questions about Ukraine included the ones about the country’s geography, administrative arrangement, sights and history.
An unusual challenge “The Strength of Ukrainians” was devoted to the Constitution of Ukraine and started on Thursday. The participants of the challenge were offered to lift 16-kg or 8-kg kettlebells 1710 times. “This number was selected for a reason, as 1710 is the year of the first Ukrainian Constitution written by Pylyp Orlyk. This document has an important symbolic meaning in the history of formation of Ukrainian statehood,” the organizers of the festivities explained. They counted that by participating in the challenge, the visitors to Feldman Ecopark managed to exceed the initially set number of kettlebell lifting. “During the challenge, 101 persons lifted the 16-kg kettlebell 17 times. It is almost 27.5 tons,” the organizers informed after the activities finished. It should be noted that both the Cossack men and women took an active part in the challenge, the latter lifted 8-kg kettlebells.
This day, Ukrainian melodies performed masterly by a violinist in a national costume sounded in the pavilion near the Swan Lake. The next days, it was also possible to listen to the music, which was traditionally performed on a clarinet or a saxophone.
The visitors to Feldman Ecopark were also able to look at the Strongman-Show by the titled athletes on Thursday. Its participants used various objects to demonstrate the abilities of a human organism after the hard trainings for muscles and willpower. The strongmen tore tear-off calendars, inflated hot-water bottles until they explode, bent steel rods creating different forms – for example, a heart or a spiral.
The festive show “Like in Our Ukraine” performed by the Theatre of Children and Animals was also devoted to Constitution Day. Moreover, on July 1, the Theatre pleased its loyal audience with the premiere of the “Karabas-Show.”
In addition, during the weekend, the visitors to Feldman Ecopark were able to attend fascinating master classes on bracelet plaiting and mehendi body art. Within the campaign “The Art Saves,” young musicians shared their art at the improvised picture gallery. On Thursday and Sunday, the pavement drawing competition “This is My Land!” was held. The participants were awarded with the souvenirs from Feldman Ecopark.
