The activities devoted to Earth Day – the event celebrated worldwide on the March equinox and aimed at drawing people’s attention to the delicate and vulnerable environment on the planet Earth – will take place in Feldman Ecopark this weekend, March 24-25.
“Today, Earth Day is a global movement of civic initiatives aimed at the protection of the planet as our common global home. They unite a multitude of various activities and campaigns, mainly the nature conservation and environmental ones. It is the reason to once again think about the problems of the delicate and vulnerable environment, the problems of relationships between human beings and the world around,” the organizers of the festivities tell. “All activities, which will take place in Ecopark during the weekend, will be devoted to this idea.”
One of the central events among the activities on Earth Day, on Sunday, March 25, will be the campaign “Careful! Primroses!” which will be held by the members of the Feldman Ecopark Children’s Ecology and Nature Study Academy. They have made beautiful flowers and bouquets from coloured paper, and will give it to the visitors to the Regional Landscape Park. This way, they want to draw attention to the problem of mass spring primrose gathering, mainly squills and snowdrops. Due to the people’s destructive attitude, they appear more and more rarely and may vanish from the face of the earth at all. It is also planned to give master classes in artificial flowers making. “We should learn how to create beauty by hand instead of killing it,” they believe in Ecopark.
The visitors to Feldman Ecopark will be also able to take part in the fascinating games, to win pleasant prizes by answering the questions of the environmental quiz, to play an exciting game “5 Letters.” The Theatre of Children and Animals will present a thematic concert “For my dear dad.”
