On January 28 and 29 the thematic program Feldman Ecopark was dedicated to East New Year which homeland is considered to be China. In the Celestial Empire this date is also called Spring Festival.

According to the Celestial Empire’s traditions the beast Nian which, as believed, exactly in the New Year gets out of the abyss of the sea, frightening the whole neighborhood with its formidability became the central figure of the weekend. Red color is the only thing which makes the beast powerless. With this myth in China the custom to decorate everything in scarlet colors on this holiday ingrained: it is considered that in such a way the person can get lucky (red is success-catching color during this period) and to warn off all troubles.
Also on these days off the Feldman Ecopark’s guests had a unique opportunity to blandish the New Year’s master – the Fiery Rooster. The temperamental bird showed up for the meeting with visitors on the main path where everyone could treat feathery dude with grain. Outdoor games, contests, quizzes, fortunetelling and pleasant gifts such as thematic memento amulets became a pleasant bonus in making acquaintance with the main characters of the Chinese New year. The guests got pendants with the happy hieroglyphs predicting all sorts of amenities to the owners. The organizers reserved not less interesting gifts for our small friends Feldman Ecopark – magic cookies with kind-hearted predictions.
