Last weekend in Feldman Ecopark was devoted to the Earth Day, the Israel Independence Day and the 106 anniversary of Plast. The idea of environmental protection and friendliness united the participants of “MeetUp of Atsmaut” picnic, the members of the national scout organization and the guests of the Social and Humanitarian Multi-Complex.
On Sunday, about hundred members of the national scout organization “Plast”, children aged six years and their adult mentors camped out in the territory of Feldman Ecopark. The matriculation of new scouts who as well as the first foot-scouts in 1912 pronounced the words of “plast oath” took place in a festive atmosphere. Moreover, the visitors of Feldman Ecopark were able to witness first-hand in force and dexterity of the young scouts who have shown ability to set out a Tyrolean traverse, to move on it, competitions in plast games, knowledge necessary for survival in the forest. The scouts showed that they have clear and fundamental rules of conduct outdoors, in order not to cause harm and not to leave behind garbage. Having shown their skills, the foot-scouts gathered around the campfire where they listened to stories from history of the Scout Movement in Ukraine and sang songs. “We’ve done the utmost for our guests to plunge into the atmosphere of Plast and showed that it is possible to spend actively time in nature, without doing harm to the environment” — the representative of the Kharkiv Plast, Valeriia Litvinenko says.
On Sunday, the young activists of the Jewish organization “Sochnut” planted birches in the territory of Feldman Ecopark, having devoted this symbolical campaign devoted to the 70th anniversary of Israel Independence. “The tradition of similar picnic events, held by the youth department of Sochnut-Ukraine Office, goes back to the first settlers of the State of Israel who have begun to create kibbutzim and to plant trees and shrubs in the desert area of the gained historical homeland” — the organizers of the event told. Having discussed important issues concerning person’s place in nature, attitude to the native country and history of their people, the participants of this picnic tasted a traditional treating from national Jewish cuisine.
On Sunday, the visitors of Feldman Ecopark were able to take part in the programme devoted to the Earth Day. Kharkiv citizens responded to the “Careful! Battery!” campaign with big enthusiasm and brought a large number of used batteries for utilization. Those who have brought more than 20 batteries won a memento – a charm or the happy coin engraved by hand on the mint. The winners of the pavement drawing competition “The World that I Need” that has been devoted to the Earth Day got nice prizes. Those preferring to create something by hands were able to visit a master class in creation of thematic souvenirs. The entertainment programme culminated in common performance of the well-known song of Michael Jackson “We Are the World.” And the smallest guests of the Feldman Ecopark participated in the game programme “Let’s Preserve the Planet Clean and Beautiful!”. Besides, this weekend the run bike rental centre was opened for them.
