The World Orienteering Day was celebrated in the Feldman Ecopark on May 11 within the framework of the Orienteering Festival. The participants of the festival were awarded by diplomas personally signed by president of the International Orienteering Federation Brian Porteous. The orienteering festivities were held on the Federation’s initiative in 58 countries of the world, and the Feldman Ecopark became an official participant of these events. That is why, the Ecopark was the place for the meeting of both professional athletes and amateurs.

The Orienteering Festival takes place in the Feldman Ecopark on May 7-22. Every visitor of the Ecopark is able to get invitations and topographic maps and cover the route. After that, they will get diplomas and will be able to make a photo.

According to the organizers, the route of the Regional Landscape Park was made not only for athletes. The common guests of the Ecopark will also be able to cover it, especially, considering the fact that the professionals of the Komlas orienteering club will help them.

“The visitors of the Feldman Ecopark respond to the offer to take part in the festival very positively. They, especially families with children, take maps with pleasure and cover the route. Orienting is the wonderful way to lead a healthy and active life-style, which is the main philosophy of the Ecopark,” the organizers noted.
