Last Sunday, the visitors to the Social and Humanitarian Multi-Complex found out not only a lot of new about donkeys, but also were able to get acquainted with them closer.
Loyal friends of one of the best-known donkeys in the world – Shrek and Fiona opened and carried out the campaign “Unknown about known: Our amazing friend donkey”. With their participation on the Kind Donkey ground, the visitors to Feldman Ecopark were able to see its inhabitants, and the famous biologist Andrii Hapchenko gave a small popular lecture about these representatives of Equidae. Hosts of the festivities checked considerable amount of common myths since burros became faithful companions and assistants to the person.
In particular, it was checked, whether the burro reacts to a nickname or only to the owner’s voice and is afraid of predatory animals. “Certainly, we didn’t carry out experiment with large animals and predators. A cat and two breeds of dogs were involved and they felt uncomfortable in the company of donkeys. However, the myth that donkeys can follow the carrot hanging before a nose was confirmed. Nevertheless, our donkeys love carrots very much” — the organizers of the campaign noted.
Besides, the unusual contest took place within the campaign. The participants spread carrots before donkeys, those, whose carrot was chosen by the animal, won a prize – a feeding packet for zebras and an opportunity to feed them. At the main location, everyone was able to demonstrate his or her knowledge at the quiz “Our friend donkey.” The holiday ended with a picturesque photo shoot with donkeys.
Besides, during the previous weekend, the visitors to Feldman Ecopark were offered to visit interesting master classes in bracelet creation, clay modeling and mehendi. The Theatre of Children and Animals performed with a fascinating show “Cheerful Kaleidoscope”, and the live classic music concert “In Harmony with Nature” sounded at the pavilion near the Swan Lake.
