New animals in Feldman Ecopark: coatis, alpaca and Jacob sheep

The new animals arrived to the Feldman Ecopark: three coatis, alpaca and Jacob sheep. They came to Kharkiv from Vinnytsia within the framework of exchange between the zoological parks of Ukraine. In turn, the Feldman Ecopark gave a couple of patas monkeys, two she-coatis, a sheep and two Australian cockatoos cockatiel.

The new animals immediately found companies in the Ecopark, the workers of the Regional landscape park tell. The Jacob sheep acclimatized perfectly among the local sheep, and the alpaca got on with two trained females from the Theatre of children and animals. Young naturalist expect that the new one will soon become the part of their big creative team.

Three coatis are the only animals who haven’t get into contact with anyone yet. “They still adapt to the new place,” the Ecopark workers note.

During the visit to the Feldman Ecopark, the representatives of the Vinnytsia zoo became interested in the ideas of birds enclosures’ construction. The special attention was paid to the round enclosure being the common home for rabbits, quails and monk parakeets. The workers of the Ecopark bring willow twigs for the latter, and the birds build warm nests for the whole families to live in them. The experts from Vinnytsia not only decided to adopt this idea, but also to build the similar enclosure in their zoo by spring. The workers of the Feldman Ecopark were invited to its opening.
