Hıdırellez and Time of Remembrance and Reconciliation observed in Ecopark

The events devoted to one of main and favourite holidays of Crimean Tatars – Hıdırellez, and to the Time of Remembrance and Reconciliation were held in the Feldman Ecopark on May 8.

The representatives of Tatar cultural and educative community Duslıq told the visitors of the Ecopark about the history and the customs of Crimean and Volga Tatars, and entertained everyone with folk songs. In addition, the guests were treated with the traditional Tatar dishes.

“Feldman Ecopark observes the holidays of many people and religions – the Judaic, Christian, Muslim, Buddhist ones. And I am very glad to wish the Crimean Tatar People a happy holiday of spring and new yield,” the founder of the Ecopark, Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Feldman noted. “It is difficult to imagine that the horrors, which they faced during the World War II – deportation, humiliation, may happen again in the 21st century.”

The Ecopark did not forget about the Time of Remembrance and Reconciliation observed on May 8. The guests of the Regional Landscape Park were able to watch the performance of the Odnopolchane choir of the Kharkiv garrison Officers’ Club, the Russian song choir of the Stroitelei cultural centre; the Theatre of Children and Animals presented the festive show No One is Forgotten, Nothing is Forgotten, and the artists of the Horse Complex performed the show We Remember. Everyone was able to share the information about their relatives – the war veterans.

In addition, the Service for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Feldman Ecopark Good Home” resumed the action to find homes for the animals Rescuing a Life You Find a Friend, within the framework of which hundreds of kittens and puppies found new homes.

Another one event taking place in the Ecopark is the orienteering festival. Everyone is able to take a topographic map, to cover a route and to get a special commemorative diploma.

The visitors were also able to attend the master classes in creation of cards, to take part in the competition of children’s pavement drawings May There Always Be Sunshine, and to watch the traditional parade of animals in the Regional Landscape Park.

It should be reminded that today, on the Victory Day, the memorial installation A Wall of Remembrance will be presented for the visitors at 11 a.m., which will contain the stories and the photos of the heroes who liberated Ukraine from German invaders. The installation with the photos of valiant front-line and rear area soldiers will be accompanied with touching war songs. They will be performed by the best vocal choirs of Kharkiv. Many performances by the artists of the Feldman Ecopark, the Staryi Tsyrk studio and the Children of the Future band are prepared for the guests.
