The Regional Landscape Park Feldman Ecopark was visited by more than 2 million people in 2016. The Director of Feldman Ecopark Andrii Roshchupkin told about this.
“This triumphal number demonstrates that Feldman Ecopark successfully won the enviable position in the rating of the favourite places to spend time for both Ukrainians and the guests of the country,” Andrii Roshchupkin noted. “From the small private zoo to the large-scale, multifunctional complex aimed not only at the outdoor family recreation, but also at the psychosocial rehabilitation of children and adults, as well as the assistance to animals in trouble. And this is the way that the Regional Landscape Park Feldman Ecopark passed during over 5 years. And we have a lot to be proud of!”
Andrii Roshchupkin notes that the difficult situation in Ukraine during the recent years made the rehabilitation direction a priority in the development of Feldman Ecopark. The Centre of Psychosocial Rehabilitation applies the cutting edge methods united in the concept of ecotherapy. The best Ukrainian specialists of the Centre learned to help people with various problems, including children with special needs and behavioural, social and mental disorders, IDPs from Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, ATO veterans and the members of their families, as well as people who faced difficult life circumstances.
“For the qualitative and timely provision of support to those who need it the most, Feldman Ecopark enters into cooperation with many governmental structures,” Andrii Roshchupkin told. “A longstanding joint work is carried on with the Ministry of Social Policy, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and with the regional state administrations of Kharkiv and other oblasts and local self-government bodies throughout the country – from Donetsk to Zakarpattia.”
It should be reminded that in addition to the Centre of Psychosocial Rehabilitation, the projects being the landmark of Feldman Ecopark include the All-Ukrainian Service for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Feldman Ecopark Good Home,” Children’s Ecology and Nature Study Academy, 1,000 Teams Tournament and many other directions. Today, the collection of Feldman Ecopark has more than 2,000 animals of 200 species. The work of the specialists of Feldman Ecopark in the field of rescue of rare animals and the arrangement of the maintenance conditions, which correspond to modern international tendencies, for all animals were highly appreciated abroad, as it became a candidate for the membership in the most authoritative organization with high standards, the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria.
