Ukrainian narcologists came to Feldman Ecopark to study Eco-therapy

Future narcologists from the different cities of Ukraine visited the Feldman Ecopark Centre for Psychosocial Rehabilitation. They attended classes conducted for children with special needs here, and were able to get acquainted with practical application of Eco-therapy.

“The doctors receiving a new specialization at department of narcology of the Kharkiv Medical Academy of Post-Graduate Education arrived in Feldman Ecopark. The aim of their visit is practical, the’re interested in a secret of growing popularity of Eco-therapy and whether it is possible to apply it in their professional activity, – the head of psychological service of Feldman Ecopark Centre for Psychosocial Rehabilitation Tetiana Aliieva told. – Recently, Eco-therapy and animal-assisted therapy as its major component in Ukraine became rather relevant forms of use of natural and preformed factors in work of psychologists, psychotherapists, etc. Therefore, the narcologists decided to get acquainted closer with methods about which they hear rather often. First of all they were interested in professional specifics of animal impact on a person and how this influence corrects various aspects of socialization”.

The guests were present at one of sessions of equine-assisted therapy combined with canine therapy for children with Down syndrome (DS), and took part in discussion of the course of its implementation. The specialists of the Feldman Ecopark Centre for Psychosocial Rehabilitation chose this occupation as an example of work on social integration of people with behavioral disorders.

“Our Centre is always ready to impart experience for the largest number of Ukrainian experts seized modern methods and could implement them at the European level”, – Tatiana Aliieva emphasized.

It should be reminded that the Centre for Psychosocial Rehabilitation works in the Social and Humanitarian Multi-Complex Feldman Ecopark since 2013, aimed at the assistance to children and adults, including the families of IDPs and ATO veterans. Its main know-how – use of therapeutic properties of communication with nature and animals. This method is called Eco-therapy.
