An international panel devoted to bats Kharkiv Bat Meeting will take place in the Bat Rehabilitation Center of Feldman Ecopark in the beginning of April. It will be the third international panel arranged by the Centre and the biggest one.
It is planned that in addition to Ukrainian researchers, it will be attended by experts from Australia, Brazil, Germany, Poland and Switzerland.
“The specialists from different countries, who are studying or working in Germany, in particular, in the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research in Berlin, will arrive. We have also invited several notable German scientists. Moreover, former workers of our Centre, who are currently studying in Polish universities and are our volunteers, will also be among the participants of the panel,” the head of the Bat Rehabilitation Center of Feldman Ecopark Anton Vlashchenko told.
The panel will become the part of the Cooperation Programme between the Bat Rehabilitation Center of Feldman Ecopark and Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research. The meeting will be also devoted to the solemn release of bats in 2019, and to the opening of a special enclosure Bat Collider in the Social and Humanitarian Multi-Complex.
It should be reminded that the Bat Rehabilitation Center of Feldman Ecopark is a unique animal protection organization not only for Ukraine, but also for entire Eastern Europe. Since its establishment, it rescued more than 12,000 bats, all species of which are in Ukrainian Red Book. The rescued and rehabilitated animals are returned to the nature. In particular, a record number of bats – 2,500 animals – were released to the nature in Feldman Ecopark.
