The representatives of the Feldman Ecopark’s Centre of Cheiroptera Rehabilitation visited Poland and Germany, and also published an article in the international scientific journal.
The specialists of the Centre Olena Golovchenko, Viktor Kovalev, Olena Rodenko and Anton Vlashchenko participated in the Fifth all-Polish Teriology Conference of Young Scientists (V Ogólnopolska Studencka Konferencja Teriologiczna) which took place in Poznan. According to the results of scientific researchred of the Centre two presentations have been presented at the conference. The first was devoted to discovery of the huge noctule (Nyctalus lasiopterus) in the Kharkiv oblast which was made in the summer of 2016 for the first time in 60 years. The second was devoted to results of the craniometric analysis of serotines (Eptesicus serotinus). This research work “Craniometry of Serotine Bat (Eptesicus serotinus) from Eastern Ukraine” represented by Olena Golovchenko has won first place in a poster session.
In Germany the delegation of the Centre visited the Bat Museum; also the students volunteers of the Centre were given a short training in the Institute of Zoology in Berlin.
Besides, the results of researches of the Centre’s staff are published in the scientific journal in Turkey. In the next issue of TURKISH JOURNAL OF ZOOLOGY the article devoted to the study of Cheiroptera way of life in the urban environment on the example of the chiropters collected in Kharkiv in 2013 was published.
“Such events are of great importance, because we, as the only Centre for studying of cheiropters in Ukraine, represent on the international scene not only the Feldman Ecopark, but the whole country. It is important that colleagues from other states see the results of our work, in particular, the specialists from all over the world will be able to read our article in the serious English-language title” — the head of the Feldman Ecopark Centre of Cheiroptera Rehabilitation Anton Vlashchenko noted.
