The deputy mayor on health and social protection told this during the round table conference “Present-day influence of social networks on mental health of children and teenagers,” which took place in Kharkiv on April 5.
“We are working with Feldman Ecopark for a long time and with many other organizations on the range of directions connected with the children’s leisure and health improvement. Today, it is necessary to join efforts to resist join efforts epidemic and violence on social networks,” Svitlana Horbunova-Ruban noted.
She also declared about the necessity to work with the parents and to deal with the issues of children’s leisure. “In order to eliminate the problem, it is necessary to eliminate the reason. One of them is a fantastic weakening of the institute of the family,” Ms. Horbunova-Ruban told.
Vice mayor also emphasized the problem of free time of children and teenagers. In this connection she noted the significant work of the Feldman Ecopark Centre of Psychosocial Rehabilitation, emphasizing that it is necessary to develop and support the similar projects in every way.
It should be noted that the representatives of municipal and regional authorities, specialized state institutions and expert community took part in the round table. They have analyzed the situation with adolescent suicides in Kharkiv region, the negative tendencies connected with the propaganda of violence in the Internet and craze for “Blue Whale” and destructive societies on social networks.
During the meeting, it was decide to develop the programme of children’s health protection in Kharkiv region based on the experience of the Regional Landscape Park Feldman Ecopark.
It should be reminded that the round table conference was carried out under the auspices of the International Charitable Foundation “Oleksandr Feldman Foundation,” the psychotherapy department of Kharkiv Medical Academy of Post-graduate Education under the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, and the National League of Psychotherapy, Psychosomatics and Medical Psychology.
