The exhibition of works by Tamara and Olesia Vakulenko was opened in AVEC Gallery on June 10 within the frameworks of the project Ecopalitra. These Kharkiv artists – a mother and her daughter – are famous with their works in Ukrainian folk style of Petrykivka painting. This tradition was started with the grandmother – Anna Samarska, who was an apprentice of a famous Kateryna Bilokur, whose works impressed even Pablo Picasso.
Olesia Vakulenko became nationally famous thanks to social networks, where she published her wonderful “anti-stress paintings.” Several years ago she published a colouring book “I love Ukraine” together with the Lviv publishing house. It became a national best-seller at once. Recently, she implemented another one creative project “Ukrainian myth world.”
Not only the author’s paintings from these two books are represented in the AVEC Gallery, but also the other magical works by Olesia Vakulenko, as well as the work by her mother Tamara, the honoured master of folk art of Ukraine.
