The heads of the Centre of psychosocial rehabilitation of the Feldman Ecopark Inna Vashkite and Tetiana Alieva carry out field classes for psychologists, psychotherapists, psychiatrists, neurologists, narcologists, and family doctors from Kharkiv and the region. The trainings are carried out within the framework of the cycle of the thematic advanced training “Psychosocial rehabilitation of persons who became disabled during active service, and other persons who became victims performing military service duties in Ukraine.”
“The application of versatile non-standard methods helps people to become open and to faster overcome various stress conditions. In the Feldman Ecopark, we often use the Animal Activities method. This kind of animal-assisted therapy implies the unobtrusive and calm contact with a horse. The demobilized soldiers can feed them here, stroke, walk in the riding school or ride on horseback,” tells the medical head of the Centre Inna Vashkite. “A lot of soldiers lost their animals on the war, a lot of them, on the contrary, found pets there and took them home. That is why ‘four-leg therapists’ for them are the best variant to demonstrate positive emotions and forget about hard feelings.”
Thanks to the specialists of the Feldman Ecopark, those who attended the lectures, were able to learn the basic psychocorrective methods of work and the completely non-standard ones. Inna Vashkite and Tetiana Alieva told how it is possible to use natural factors in own practice, including fresh air, plants, water and even animals. The experience of the specialists shows that such methods as garden, landscape and animal-assisted therapy are helpful for the patients.
Under the support of the Feldman Ecopark, during the thematic advanced trainings, the doctors were able to leave Kharkiv and become acquainted with the program of psychosocial rehabilitation for ATO participants and their families in the Berezovski Mineralni Vody health resort.
All trainings of the cycle will be held during two weeks. After that, the doctors will get the necessary skills of work with the ATO soldiers, will pass exams and will be able to implement the comprehensive programs of rehabilitation of this people in their towns.
It should be noted that the training is carried out under the direction of the chief independent specialist of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, working in the fields of medical psychology and psychotherapy, the head of the department of psychotherapy in Kharkiv Medical Academy of Post-graduate Education, the Doctor of Medicine, prof. Borys Mykhailov. He, together with the heads of the Centre of psychosocial rehabilitation of the Feldman Ecopark, developed the advanced training program for the specialists throughout the country.
