There are new dogs in the Feldman Ecopark Kennel Club. Golden Retrievers, marble colored dachshunds and Alaskan Malamute were brought for lessons in the Club.
Three-year-old Malamute Luna is the participant of international dog shows. It arrived from Dnipro. This dog will not only take part in the lessons of the club of young cynologists, it will also take young visitors of Feldman Ecopark for ride in dog sledge (in winter, it moves with the help of sledge runners, and in summer – with the help of wheels.) Luna will have a company in this work – an eight-month-old Husky Charlize that lives in Ecopark.
In addition, two eight-month-old Golden Retrievers (females) will be settled in the Regional Landscape Park. Simultaneously several projects of Feldman Ecopark expect their assistance. In addition to the Kennel Club, the Retrievers will also work as therapeutist animals during the animal-assisted therapy lessons (Canine-assisted therapy) in the Centre of Psychosocial Rehabilitation. The Ecopark’s cynologists are planning to prepare them for work with children with special needs as guide dogs, which will help children during the excursions in Ecopark. One more direction of work is performances in the theatrical shows of the Horse Complex.
The other newcomers in the Kennel Club are two marble colored dachshunds. Since they are too small, two-month-old puppies, they will not work with children so far. The dachshunds will start their lessons only when they become strong and independent enough. Meanwhile, all necessary conditions for their growth and development will be created for them.
It should be noted that the Feldman Ecopark Kennel Club started its operation this July. It is attended by children aged 10-16. The educators teach them the main principles of mutual understanding with dogs, the rules of care and communication, the training of pets. In addition to these basic knowledge, it is possible to undergo the special comprehensive courses in the Kennel Club, including the preparation of dogs for the case of emergency, the search of animals and objects, the training of guide dogs, the organization of shows.
