The Ukrainian MP, the founder of the International Charitable Foundation “Oleksandr Feldman Foundation” Oleksandr Feldman handed certificates for 100,000 UAH to the heads of four social projects for which development the Foundation runs a campaign “The Art of Mercy”. This is the first tranche from more than 3,000,000 UAH obtained at the first stage of the campaign.
“These means are allocated for socially important projects, necessary to our city, our country and the world. Today, you are able to see the team that realizes all this. The person involved in an important case needs contemplation to realize that his work is appreciated and supported. Hearts of people are open for kindness and helping others — our campaign is a great example of that. Thousands of volunteers throughout the whole country joined it. Our appreciation goes to all those who participated in the campaign or just going to make it” — Oleksandr Feldman emphasized.
The project managers told about further use of the allocations
Andrii Hapchenko, the initiator of programmes of the World Open Foundation for Animal Rehabilitation and Reintroduction:
“We want to support projects that successfully develop in Feldman Ecopark. In particular, the project of breeding of rare and threatened species of animals. We have about 50 species of such animals in the Ecopark, many of them successfully breed and we have the possibility of creating artificial populations. The second direction is reintroduction of rare species in the nature of Ukraine, and the third one is ecological demonstration programmes, for example – the establishment of big zoogeographical enclosures. The Yellowstone Complex devoted to North America can become the first such complex”.
Borys Mikhaylov, the scientific head of the Feldman Ecopark Centre of Psychosocial Rehabilitation, the head of the psychotherapy department of the Kharkiv Medical Academy for Post-graduate Education (KhMAPE):
“During 5 years of its operation, the Centre gained experience in medical and psychological, psychosocial rehabilitation, first of all, in work with children. These are children with special needs, children from troubled and Donbas IDP children and adults. We plan to continue the development of these directions with attraction of new technologies, creation of enriched eco-address environment, which we want to differentiate for needs of different groups of children. Except the increase of activities of the Centre, we plan to disseminate the experience of its operation throughout Ukraine”.
Iryna Podvoiska, the head of the Service for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Feldman Ecopark Good Home”:
“Thanks to the campaign “The Art of Mercy” we will be able to help a larger number of animal species; more animals will be rescued and will find home in our Centre. The construction of big enclosure for cats with area more than 300 sq.m is underway – it is an extensive enclosure, including summer and winter premises with a beautiful territory where animals will be comfortable and won’t feel like living in a shelter. In addition, we are going to broaden the enclosures for dogs: there will be more of them, they will be more spacious. Besides, we build special enclosure for work with dogs of the specialists of the Club of Cynologists. Besides, we will be able to pay more attention to predators (foxes, silver foxes, raccoon dogs) and birds”.
Anton Vlashchenko, the head of the Feldman Ecopark Centre of Cheiroptera Rehabilitation:
“We want to develop both in animal protection, and educational and scientific directions. Today, the key direction of development is construction of the enclosure in Feldman Ecopark. It will be both scientific base, and the place where Ecopark’s visitors will be able to see the rehabilitated bats. Various tours and lectures will be held on its base. It will be the unique, the only enclosure for Cheiropterans in Eastern Europe and scientific base of the international value”.
It should be reminded that the charitable campaign “The Art of Mercy” was launched on May 19, 2018. . Having bought charitable lots (pictures of the famous Ukrainian artists from the collection of Oleksandr Feldman’s Foundation), philanthropists thereby channel funds for the development of the World Open Foundation for Animal Rehabilitation and Reintroduction, the Centre for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Feldman Ecopark Good Home” or the Centre for Cheiroptera Rehabilitation.
