General Secretary of Religions for Peace Conference will visit Ukraine at the invitation of Oleksandr Feldman

General Secretary of the World Conferences of Religions for Peace William Vendli will visit Kyiv at the invitation of Ukrainian MP, the founder of the Institute of Human Rights and Prevention of Extremism and Xenophobia Oleksandr Feldman.

Oleksandr Feldman informed this after the meeting with William Vendli in New York, where the Ukrainian politician was on business trip.

According to Oleksandr Feldman, the discussion of Mr. Vendli’s visit to Ukraine was one of the topics of the meeting. The public figures discussed the problems of interfaith relations in the modern world and the ways of construction of peaceful and tolerant interfaith dialogue.

“It is difficult to overestimate the work of Mr. Vendli in construction of tolerant and peaceful society. I am sure that his arrival in our country will favour the development of interfaith dialogue between the representatives of all religions existing in Ukraine,” Oleksandr Feldman stated.

According to the MP’s words, it has been agreed provisionally that Mr. Vendli will visit Ukraine in October or November this year.

It should be reminded that Religions for Peace is the large international religious and pacifist organization with the headquarters in New York. It has the consultative status under UNESCO, UNICEF and United Nations Economic and Social Council. Its members include the most influential figures of mass religions from 92 countries of the world.

William Vendli is the General Secretary of the organization since 1994.
