On the picturesque coast of the second lake in the location of the Feldman Ecopark’s Three Lakes the young naturalists of the Children’s Ecology and Nature Study Academy together with the children resting in the Summer camp released to the nature more than hundred waterfowl.
The numerous and varied bird’s group which received new apartments consists of a ruddy shelduck, a crested duck, a bar-headed goose, a snow (blue) goose, a marsh goose, an orn swan goose, a dwarfish duck and Ross’ goose.
“We’ve already released swans to the lake some time ago and now they got new neighbors. The spacious pond allows its inhabitants to feel free and comfortable. The released birds will constantly stay in the location of the lake including wintering. For this purpose special devices won’t allow water to freeze with the onset of frosts. The Feldman Ecopark’s will monitor the state of the birds staying in the conditions as close to natural as possible” —the Feldman Ecopark’s deputy director of zootechnics Valeriia Ivashchenko told.
It should be reminded that recently fifteen pink flamingos for whom the new spacious enclosure was equipped, settled in the Regional Landscape Park. In total the zoological collection of the Feldman Ecopark comprises two thousand birds, more than a half of them — natatorial.
