Biblical zoo created in Feldman Ecopark

The Feldman Ecopark is going to open the unique for Ukraine biblical zoo. This was stated by the founder of the Ecopark, the Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Feldman.

“It is no coincidence that the idea to create an unusual nature study corner appeared. During several years, we held the joint events and trainings, exchanged experience and cooperated closely with the Jerusalem Biblical Zoo. During this time we were inspired by its history and traditions, and tried to absorb the best practices of the organization,” Mr. Feldman told. “In the near future, we are going to create an analogue of the biblical zoo in the form of zoological gardens for animals mentioned in the Bible.”

According to the Ecopark’s founder, the Regional landscape park and the Biblical zoo have much in common. For example, both places are the significant tourist attractions. “We are also similar in applying considerable efforts trying to make our activity internationally and multiculturally significant. The main purpose of the Feldman Ecopark is to fulfill missions, which are important for society: to foster tolerant attitude to people, animals, nature, different cultures and religions, and to create a territory of comfort without bounds,” Mr. Feldman notes.

It should be noted that during five years of the Feldman Ecopark existence, it became an eco-hallmark of Ukraine. In general, the Regional landscape park is visited by 1,500,000 guests from 24 countries of the world per year. Near 2,000 animals of 200 species lives in the Ecopark. The Ecopark also has the country’s biggest collection of primates, the number of which reached 180 individuals of 30 species. The Ecopark occupies the area of 140.5 ha.
