The smallest actors of the Theatre of Children and Animals Feldman Ecopark are mice and rats. You shouldn’t think that if they are the smallest, they have nothing to surprise the audience. These tailed and fluffy creatures are very bright, they can be taught different tricks.
“They are inherent rope-walkers and acrobats; it is a real pleasure to work with them. We often allow to kids to take actors in hands after the performance and we explain how circus numbers with their participation made. The main secret – it is necessary to treat mice and rats tenderly, to pat them, to give treats, but not to overfeed that during the performance they weren’t lazy. And they shouldn’t be lazy it in any way, they have very important roles in performances – mice step on the stage together with Kot Leopold or Mary Poppins, and a rat together with Shapoklyak and the Cheburashka”, – told the trainer of little rodents Katya Ivashchenko about the pets.
Pigeons are no less popular stars of Theatre of Children and Animals. There are Shakespeare and William – they managed to be salvaged from cats and though they can’t fly now, but their actor’s talent revealed in the theater. Penguin and Chubka – tame pure-bred pigeons brought by the Kharkov citizens who found them after the tours of a gilly circus. Juliette, Breeze, Charlie – the baby birds who are brought up already in the Ecopark.
“One and all pigeons act in various performances of the Theatre. They dexterously climb short flights of stairs, jump on stools, and climb up a shoulder of the favourite young naturalist. Pigeons are very beautiful and absolutely manual; they sit down on the heads and palms of the audience during the performance. It always causes admiration both in adults and in kids. In the spring the tender of dances with pigeons “On dream wings” took place in the Ecopark. There was a bright, fascinating show and we hope to hold it annually”, – the actress of the Theatre of Children and Animals Vlada Bondareva tells.
